Common issues

The lock screen does not appear

Manufacturer battery optimisation stops the app. This is by far the most common cause.

• Open the app and it will show you which settings are still off. Follow those
• Samsung — Settings → Battery → remove from background usage limits
• Xiaomi — Settings → Other permissions → enable Show on lock screen and Display pop-up windows while running in the background

No weather is shown

• Check your internet connection
• If we have a previous reading we show it, and once it is over six hours old we say how old it is

It shows the wrong area

Without location permission we fall back to Seoul. Android Settings → Apps → WeatherFairy → Permissions → allow location. We use approximate location only and do not track you (privacy policy).

It drains my battery

Please tell us. This is the thing we worry about most in a lock screen app, and if it is happening we want to find the cause.
